Summer 2026 Update
Watch our 2026 Songbird Sanctuary Update to see the incredible progress being made to restore and protect this special place for wildlife. Thanks to your support, we’re creating a healthier habitat for songbirds, pollinators, and future generations.
Where it All Began
In 2025, Audubon Dallas achieved a landmark conservation milestone with the purchase of 60 acres of native habitat adjacent to Cedar Ridge Preserve.
Known as the Songbird Sanctuary, this special property protects important nesting and migratory habitat for songbirds, including the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler. By securing this land from future development, Audubon Dallas is ensuring that wildlife—and future generations—will benefit from this natural landscape for decades to come.
The Songbird Sanctuary represents our commitment to protecting birds and the places they need while expanding opportunities for education, research, and nature appreciation in North Texas.
The best way to understand the importance of the Songbird Sanctuary is to see it for yourself. This video showcases the beauty of the property, the wildlife it supports, and the conservation vision that inspired Audubon Dallas to protect it forever. Every acre preserved today helps create a healthier future for birds, wildlife, and our community.
